Nestled into a secluded Mauritian peninsula, the idyllic One&Only Le Saint Géran's new design celebrates its easy relationship with the elements, maintaining all the openness of the original resort whilst bringing an elevated sense of modern luxury.
The grand arrival doors announce the entry to the resort and the long open gallery; a wonderful breezeway that houses both reception and a clear unobstructed view directly to the beach. Grand lanterns guide you through the gallery past generous sofas and a floating pavilion that extends over the intimate inner water way.
Soft, silver travertine to the floor echoes the ripples of beach sand, while the white washed interior gently reflects the light.
Guest Lounge
A long room fronting a generous terrace overlooking the new pavilions below and beyond to the beach. Designed as a relaxing haven for all times of the day, the lounge is finished in painted boarding, and is divided by generous bookshelves creating quiet zones for simply relaxing.
La Terasse
A generous Moltini range has pride of place as the focus of the kitchen while pastries are picked off a long, brushed oak communal table. A vibrant blue and white Mauritian pattern is a wonderful feature to the floor giving the room a sweeping residential feel.
Prime
The restaurant spills out into an interior court with seating located under the generous fig tree. The French limestone floor sets off the simple but elegant interior. Boarded ceilings and softly glowing lanterns reveal an interior dedicated to produce and wine. The leather seats contrast with the arabescato marble and the open window to the kitchen highlights its commitment to quality.
L'Artisan
A lively communal destination showcasing coffee, pastries and the best of local produce. Open to both the beach front and the interior courtyard, the L'Artisan is designed to be the ideal retreat from the heat and a wonderful venue throughout the day. The timber and brick detailed floor keeps it cool while the large communal table offers a variety of newspapers and magazines.
Tapasake
The approach to Tapasake is transformed with a focused entry gallery leading to two generous weathered timber doors. Through the doors the soft image of a Asian face, hand painted on crafted timber beads, is gently glimpsed as it moves in the breeze. Hand woven fishing baskets are transformed into a sculptural school of lanterns that swim through the restaurant. Individually laid marble mosaic tiles line the cooking counters and add vibrancy to the new teppan station. A stripped back and elegant pier extends into the waters of the bay. Generous chairs and gently swinging lounges line the edge of the pier while a long communal table acts as both bar and gathering space.
