The G.A Group is a company of world-class designers, architects, strategists, project managers and creatives united by a shared passion for ground-breaking design. Creativity is the at the core of everything we do, even when it comes to unwinding.  Curiosity Bites looks into G.A London’s current creative fix – drawing.

Organised by Senior Designer Jessica Morrison, the G.A London Drawing Club is a monthly occurrence. The G.A team has drawn everything; from large scale, outdoor architectural sketches of Coal Drops Yard, to stunning and intimate bodily sketches with life models.

The G.A London Drawing Club is a space for our talented team to unwind and let their creative juices flow.

Benefits of Drawing practice

Drawing from life is widely regarded as a practice in mindfulness and increasing your capacity for mindfulness supports many attitudes that contribute to a more satisfied life.

Being mindful helps people to feel fully engaged while also creating a greater capacity to deal with adverse events. By focusing on the present, many people who practice mindfulness find that they are less likely to get caught up in worries about the future or regrets over the past, they are less preoccupied with superficial concerns, and are better able to form deep connections with people.

Life Drawing is a therapeutic practice that hones in on a crucial skill while also allowing people to focus completely on the moment they are in.  Learning to draw what you see, not what you think you see is the foundation of all artistic disciplines. So drawing from life is the perfect way for our talented team to refine their skills, sharpen their focus on and get lost in the here and now.

We look forward to seeing what the club gets up to next.
